Benjamin Ferrey was a highly successful architect in the mid-19th century. He studied with the Pugins (father and son) and was a friend of George Gilbert Scott. Around 1845 he was given the job of building a new church at St Mary's Shalford, which was completed in 1847. The talk looks into his life and achievements, especially in the period up to the construction of Shalford's new church.
